The Kimberley Music Store has been in continuous business in Kimberley since 1994.  In late, 2000 it moved to Marysville and is now located in the new building at 518, 304th St., across from Bootleg Video.

Ian Ferrie and Jeannie MacDonald bought Kimberley Music Store in 2002, as a good business opportunity which fit their training and skills.

Both have wide ranging musical training and experience.  In addition to a B.A. and a B.Ed. in music, Ian has played professionally and semi-professionally in Calgary and East Kootenays since 1980 when he moved out west as a military musician.  While in Calgary, he played in Eric Friedenburg's Big Band, appearing on CBC with the Band and Tommy Banks. 

One of the best aspects of the job is dealing with customers in the store and helping them meet their musical needs.  Better still, is talking to them later and a finding out that they are making progress and really enjoying music and happy with their choice!

Kimberley Music Store specializes in musical instrument sales, including guitars, drum-sets, electronic pianos & keyboards, sheet music microphones and PA gear and wind instruments.  We carry the major names in those products - Yamaha, Roland, Garrison, Aria, Sennheisser, MXL and more.  We also carry a good range of children's instruments - recorders, ukeleles, harmonicas, 1/2 size guitars & rhythm instruments.  We are proud to be able to offer these at prices competitive with chain stores and larger cities.

We offer instrumental instruction on piano, woodwind and brass and have experienced and qualified instructors for each.  Jeannie is an accomplished flutist and piano teacher.  Her degree in music education and an MA in Musicology go hand in hand with her love of private teaching - something she's done for about 30 years.  She teaches piano and flute.  Ian teaches brass, something he has done for more than 20 years. 

We also have a recording studio with full recording capabilities.  Jeannie brings with her a diploma in Radio, Stage and Television honed with 8 years at CBC Calgary in radio music.  In our studio, we do CD transfers, dubs from LP to CD and tape to CD.  We also offer rentals and repairs.

Kimberley Music Store is located at #3, 518, 304th St. in the Marysville area of Kimberley.  Look for the green & gold sign.
