It was July 1, 1927 when the Kimberley Pipe Band made its first public appearance in the Kimberley Day Parade and has continued ever since, becoming one of the longest existing pipe bands in Canada.
During World War II, the band was attached to the 17th Independent Field Squadron, Royal Canadian Engineers. Several of the members served in the Armed Forces, but the Band at home continued to do their part for the war effort.
The Kimberley Pipe Band is a non-profit society comprised of a group of men and women, young and younger, who just love to play the pipes and drums.
Be it royalty, a celebration, parade, community event, solemn occasion, or even a private function, the
Kimberley Pipe Band has provided that special entertainment for thousands of people in British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Idaho and Montana for over 70 years.
