Why the hell is it that Castle Mountain can provide a CURRENT temperature (not forecasted) and snow amounts both at the base and mid-mountain and RCR cannot. Am I missing something on the RCR site?
I am way more interested in knowing current conditions and how the snow is at the easter chair than what the forecast ( for the airport for all I know) and the fact that Kelsey's didn't get snow (when the Easter Chair did!). |

If you can link improved snow reporting to increased real estate sales, I'm sure someone at RCR head office will take notice. |

| No one is ever happy -- why don't you look out your window and see!! And if don't live here -- call the hill!! Reports are made to give you an idea of the weather around us -- not a scientific examination of the particulate and snow accumulation at one specific spot! Usually if you are a good and experienced skiier ..... you can use the report and know what you are in for. Seriously get a life if this is a huge concern! |

are you kidding me?! reporting current weather and snow accumulation on the website would be so simple.
i checked the website today (monday) at 2pm, and the snow report was from SUNDAY at 1:35pm.. that is ridiculous
time for RCR to get with the times.. pretty bad |

Reporting current weather and snow accumulation would also help get people up on the hill. However RCR doesn't care about the locals or their pass holders for that matter. If you are not from AB and don't own property on the hill they could two #$@#s about you.
It would be sssssssooooo nice to have a snow report from top of Easter Chair since everyone knows who lives here that there could be only a couple cm's at the Platz and 3 times that much at the top of Easter and raining in Marysville for the matter.
Kimberley Alpine Resort only dreams of being a REAL ski resort while they build condos and a ski bridge so they can build a hotel.
Ski bridge are you kidding me!!!!! Big "L" plastered on their foreheads!!

I've had a season pass for the past 3 years so I've checked the Snow Report page many times. What's funny is that RCR used to report the current weather (temp and precip) when they updated the grooming report between 7am and 8am or so.
It's just this current season that they've adopted the lame practice of posting only the Expected High for the day...we are going backwards. |

They must have thermometers at the top and bottom because as I was loading on the T-bar yesterday they had the temperatures for top and bottom on the info board next to the lift.
I did e-mail the info@kimberleyalpineresort.com and said there website was weak for a number of reasons. A few days later Fernie e-mailed me back saying they have too many groomed runs to post on there website and attached the grooming report for Fernie. Which goes to show you which resort RCR really cares about.
It seems most recently that they have started to groom more after the January break. However there is so little snow that they might not be able to groom very much longer. There is a nice bare spot right in the middle of the Main towards the top. Looks like it might snow!!!!! |
