| Just got my tax bill from the city. My taxes are up by 18.3 percent. This is a far cry from the 3% increase originally called for. This was increased to 5% "to help keep pace with the communities needs". How did everyone else make out? |

Was the tax increase required to keep up with the community’s needs or was it required to keep up with the communities wants?
My municipal taxes increased 65.7% since I retired in 2005 and 16.4% over last year, all to keep the City and the self interest groups in the lifestyle they are accustomed to. My total tax increase was 109.8% since I retired in 2005 and 27.7% over last year. Keep up the good work folks. Spend tomorrows revenue today and when you retire I'm confident you will get a taste of the same medicine. |

Since our taxes are based it seems on the value of our houses then our taxes would go up based partly on how much our assessed value went up this year. My assessed value went up by about 29%.
I can't remember my exact tax from last year but I believe my taxes went up around 5.5% |

Just got the BC property valuation through the post and am told my house has gone up in value by $90,000....This is based on current market trends and recent sales of similar properties in my area am told.... eerrr whatever!!! I live in Forest Crowne. I think only two houses have sold here in the past year...
Is this the Gov way of increasing my property tax? at the same time making me feel good that my house is worth so much more. Has anyone challenged a valuation and won?
